While you are shopping, don’t forget that several of the local shelters are holding canned food drives this month. Your local shelter or rescue organization ALWAYS appreciates donations! There are donation bins located in the Rainbow stores – toss in a can or three for the animals in shelters who don’t have a family – yet – for Christmas.
The weather outside is frightful … well, it has actually been pretty nice during the day, but darn cold at night. Outdoor animals are seriously in need of warm shelter this time of year. If you have a feral cat colony in your area, some easy-to-build shelters might be in order. These would also help out your barn cats! The Redwood Complex Fire recovery efforts are still going strong, and still need your support. The local donation centers provide pet food and supplies along with items needed by families that were displaced by the fires.
