Rainbow Wags March 2020

Life hasn’t been normal, we can all attest, but if we all work together, we will get through this.

Rainbow stores in all four locations are open for business with extra sanitation and precautions for the safety of both our customers and staff. If you want to phone in your orders, we will happily bring them out to your vehicle for you! Rainbow also offers delivery of feeds for both livestock and pets. Just give us a call! There has been some confusion about whether pets can also contract the Corvid 19 virus. Many reliable sources have addressed this issue. The bottom line is, Corvid 19 is not trans-communicable between our animals and humans. Learn more through the links below:

Our local shelters and rescue organizations are working hard to keep the animals in their care safe and comfortable, but they have had to cut back on some adoption events and other people-intensive activities. Are you home on an extended leave, due to the Corvid 19 shutdown? Isolation is more fun with a dog or cat beside you!

The shelters would love to have some fosters for the dogs and cats. What does fostering actually mean? Bringing a shelter pet into your home for a visit – a few days or more – gives the dog or cat a chance to experience a life that is so different from the shelter. Often an animal who is shut down and afraid in the kennel situation comes alive when given the chance to live in a home situation. This also gives the shelter personnel an insight into the animal’s true nature. The shy, timid dog at the shelter might turn out to be a couch-hog who loves belly rubs, if given the chance. This greatly improves the chances of adoption. If you are interested in fostering, contact your local shelter or rescue group and talk to them. They can help match a shelter pet to your personal situation. We all have some time now, let’s use it to make our community better!
