Raising backyard chickens comes with benefits that’ll make your homestead a little more self-sufficient and a lot more fun. For starters, you’ll have a steady supply of fresh eggs right at your doorstep. These eggs are tastier, richer, and healthier than what you’ll find at the store – plus, you know exactly where they came from.
Chickens are also great recyclers. They’ll happily gobble up kitchen scraps, and if you’ve got a garden, they’re natural pest control – they’ll feast on bugs and weeds, keeping things tidy without the need for harsh chemicals. On top of that, their droppings make excellent fertilizer for your garden.

Join us on April 8 at 5:30 pm at Skelly Dogs Training, 275 Cherry Street Suite F in Ukiah to learn more about all the upcoming activities, including AKC Fetch Dog Novice Test (to register phone Cheri (707) 671-5796) on Saturday April 26 from 8:30-12:00, and a free guided one-hour Ukiah Rail Trail Walk with your dog, Sunday April 27, starting from Skelly Dogs Training at 3:00.
