May is National Pet Month! Here at Rainbow, we certainly agree that our pets deserve to be honored every day of every month. National Pet Month is dedicated to celebrating the human-pet bond and to promoting responsible pet care. Some suggested ways to enjoy National Pet Month are to take your pet out for a walk, support your local shelter, or get them microchipped.
Conveniently, May is also National Chip Your Pet Month, promoting awareness of the safety values of having your pet microchipped – and it’s needed more than you might think! Studies show that fewer than half of all dogs and cats in the U.S. are microchipped.
However you decide to celebrate, be sure to give your pet a hug from Rainbow Ag – where good things for pets happen!
Donating to your local shelter is always a good idea, and our shelters right now really need all the help they can get. There are donation bins inside Rainbow, and we can accept donations for different organizations right at the register. It goes to pay the costs of feeding and caring for the animals in the shelters. You can also donate directly to these shelters online or by volunteering. Here is a list of local animal shelters and rescues:
