On The Right Lead November 2026

Hello, Fall! The mornings are crisp, the light has gone golden, and our horses are fluffing up their winter coats. This is one of the best times of year to be around horses: the flies are mostly gone, the trails are cool, and there’s every excuse to linger in the barn with a warm cup of coffee. This November is a busy month at Rainbow, with an evening Educational Event with Purina, holiday shopping events and two subscriber coupons to help you get ready for winter.

From all of us at Rainbow, thank you for being part of our horse community. We’re grateful for you this season and every season.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Rainbow Team.

Forage First: Meet the New Purina® Forage Line Forage is the foundation of every horse’s diet, and choosing the right forage is one of the most important care decisions you’ll make. But pasture runs short, hay quality varies, and some horses simply need something more specialized. Horses are built to graze for most of the day, and most need to eat at least 1.5% to 2% of their body weight in forage every day to keep their digestive systems healthy. Forage is also your horse’s built-in furnace in the winter, because digesting fiber produces heat. On cold nights, a little extra hay does more to keep a horse warm than extra grain. That’s where Purina’s new line of pelleted forages comes in.

All three products are low in starch and sugar, provide natural vitamin E, and feature EasySoak™ Pellet Technology, so they soften quickly in water into a mash that’s easy to chew. That’s great news for seniors and horses with dental issues.

•             Timothy-Teff Pellets are for easy keepers and horses with limited grazing. This low-starch, low-sugar grass blend is ideal for horses sensitive to non-structural carbohydrates.

•             Alfalfa Gastric Support Pellets are for horses that need extra stomach support. They combine the benefits of alfalfa with Purina’s Outlast® Technology for added gastric comfort.

•             Beet Pulp Plus Pellets are for hard keepers, seniors and horses with low body condition. Highly digestible, fiber-rich beet pulp with added fat calories helps maintain a healthy weight.

Not sure which is right for your horse? Download the free Purina® Forage Guide to find the best fit, then learn more about the full Purina Forage line. All three are available at Rainbow, and our staff is always happy to help.
